"Probably" The No.1 Thing Not To Do On Hive
It's been almost four years since I had my introductory post on Steem and it meant the world for me. I felt right from the beginning that this blogging experience is going to be one of a kind, although I wasn't blogging prior to creating my account on the dead chain and it's sure been a hell of a ride.
I have managed to survive a quite bad start, a frustrating one to two years as a "paid content creator" and a takeover of the blockchain by some shithead with money. Now, happily enjoying "our Hive" and honestly can't imagine a day going by without being active in here. I'm constantly hustling for new topics to blog about and quite heavily connected with the community in here, especially the Leofinance one.
The idea when I started was to blog about technology, mostly smartphones related, and anything complementary, but I got to the point where I can say that I've put out content on almost anything you can imagine from blockchain, crypto to photography, yoga, life style, rants and ramblings and so on. It hasn't been easy though.
As the bull market rushes forward and HIVE will appreciate in dollar valuation more and more users will join the blockchain. Splinterlands has done a tremendous job in attracting new users for the past year and the increasing dollar valuation oh HIVE will further work on that matter. Some of them(the new users) will be in shock though, once everything gets wild.
We already have posts that are earning good money and hitting trending page(not mine of course), but when $10 HIVE will hit us, we'll probably have $1,000 posts on a daily basis. Some of the newbies will get depressed, seeing that their work is not making much fuzz and many will feel like quitting and that's one of the biggest mistakes they can make. Probably the biggest mistake they'll make though is comparing themselves with other users.
You should never do that. I learned that from my own experience. If I were to keep on aligning myself with other content creators I wouldn't be around here right now. We're in "different bubbles" and it's irrelevant to compare yourself with others. If anyone to compare with is yourself, pretty much as in real life.
Don't even look at rewards for the first year or so, it's irrelevant. I personally know so many people that have joined the platform at pretty much the same time with myself and none is still active. Most of my community around here is less than two years old. The only ones I remember from my "early times" are @toofasteddie and @dragosroua.
Dragos was sort of a role model back then. If you're someone new to Hive and reading this post now, I would advise you to cut comparison tendencies out right from their early roots. They will lead you nowhere. You'd better work on engaging and creating yourself a community rather than putting yourself side by side with others.
