The future is not what it used to be - El futuro ya no es lo que solía ser.

When at the dawn of 2018 the BTC went "to the moon" as it is now customary to say, practically the entire ecosystem of digital currencies accompanied it without a moment's hesitation.

I remember one of the first informative meetings about Steemit that I attended and where someone graphing what was happening in the markets at that time made a figure with their hands showing the accompaniment in the rise of the trend charts and quotes of any other cryptocurrency with the BTC.

It was a promising future with no clouds in sight. One of the speakers at that conference and who was one of the first to guide us on the platform boasted of having earned several thousand dollars in a single night precisely because of the great increase in the value of BTC.

But since the financial markets have their own rules and do not know very well where the Moon is, a few months later the BTC fell to unthinkable lows and of course, all the other currencies followed without hesitation.

Over time we were learning and realizing that each new venture related to blockchain technology and its associated currencies should be creative, provide real solutions and be solid in their business structure and security, little by little these ventures were acquiring their own and independent life of the parent idea. It's what every child wants as he grows up.

The Hive project was born a few months ago and we believed in it, we all know the story. For those of us who are living the time of expansion and fall of the BTC and who today see its recovery, it is difficult for us to assimilate that for Hive (and several other projects) the future is not as it was in those times.

It no longer accompanies the BTC, it is a plan with its own and independent life and like all lives, it will depend on the actions that are chosen, if a path of work, trust and commitment will be followed or on the contrary, it will fail and end like many others in the trunk of broken dreams.

It will depend on all of us.

Cuando en los albores del año 2018 el BTC se fue “a la Luna” como se estila decir ahora, prácticamente todo el ecosistema de monedas digitales lo acompañó sin dudar un instante.

Recuerdo una de las primera reuniones informativas sobre Steemit a la que acudí y donde alguien graficando lo que ocurría en los mercados en esos momentos realizó una figura con sus manos mostrando el acompañamiento en la subida de los gráficos de tendencia y cotizaciones de cualquier otra cryptomoneda con el BTC.

Era un futuro promisorio y sin nubarrones a la vista. Uno de los disertantes de aquella conferencia y que fue de los primeros en orientarnos sobre la plataforma se vanagloriaba de haber ganado varios miles de dólares en una sola noche justamente por el gran aumento del valor del BTC.

Pero como los mercados financieros tienen sus propias reglas y no saben muy bien dónde queda la Luna, pocos meses después el BTC bajó a mínimos impensados y por supuesto todas las otras monedas lo siguieron sin dudar.

Con el tiempo fuimos aprendiendo y dándonos cuenta que cada nuevo emprendimiento relacionado con la tecnología blockchain y sus monedas asociadas deberían ser creativos, aportar soluciones reales y ser sólidos en su estructura de negocios y seguridad, de a poco esos emprendimientos fueron adquiriendo vida propia e independiente de la idea madre. Es lo que todo hijo desea a medida que crece.

El proyecto de Hive nació hace pocos meses y creímos en él, todos sabemos la historia. Para aquellos que vivimos el tiempo de expansión y caída del BTC y que hoy vemos su recuperación, nos cuesta asimilar que para Hive (y varios otros proyectos) el futuro no es como fue en aquellos tiempos.

Ya no acompaña al BTC, es un plan con vida propia e independiente y como todas las vidas dependerá de las acciones que se elijan, si se seguirá un camino de trabajo, confianza y compromiso o por el contrario se fracasará y terminará como muchos otros en el baúl de los sueños rotos.

Dependerá de todos nosotros.
