Hive based investments I like these days.

A lot of my content lately has been aimed externally, and is doing pretty good. However today I thought I'd take a look at some of the different investments and priorities I have been pursuing on HIVE. If you are party of my external audience, HIVE is a great place and there are many different ways to build your account balances up, both through investing money, and/or time.

Income:

Firstly, a rough guide to how much I have to work with on a daily basis.

  • Curation and delegation - 2 HIVE per day. Delegated to an alt account and auto-voting my favorite authors, powering down the account to liquid each week. Also, some delegation to @tipu for daily return.
  • DCity - decent sized city, earning around 30 HIVE equivalent per day (mostly SIM). most days I'll buy a card or two, sell the remaining funds for liquid HIVE - average 20 HIVE per day clear.
  • Posting - I'm trying much harder to post daily, and make the posts decent quality, with many being aimed outside HIVE's boundaries to bring an external audience to LeoFinance in particular. Up to 10 HIVE per day income.
  • Splinterlands - inconsistent income depending on rewards cards received - usually leaving most as DEC to eventually add to the DEC/ETH Uniswap pool.
  • Once a week I get a dividend from SPINVEST. Nowadays it is payed as more SPI, which is fine by me.

So overall, I usually have 30 - 50 HIVE per day to play with. This has taken over 2 years to build up to this level.

Buying SPI.

When WLEO was first announced, I sold some of my SPI stash to buy LEO. This worked out pretty good, but I am in SPI for the very long term, so I am gradually buying more. I usually market buy 5 - 10 HIVE worth each day. Slowly but surely building back up my holdings. Spinvest is a great setup, and pooling our collective resources to build a diversified investment fund has worked really well. If we had a couple more active participants, things would continue to grow faster, but as a "get rich slowly" investment it is hard to beat.

Buying BRO.

Likewise with BRO, I sold out to buy LEO. Similar to SPI, I am back buying 5 - 10 HIVE per day worth of BRO's. I am keen on this as another long term holding, and like SPI, I like that it is liquid and if a short term opportunity pops up, I can sell to take advantage of it, and buy back my holding over time.

Buying DEC.

I have been buying DEC over the last week or two. I always had intentions of having a stash to put into the land expansion, but have been really bad at saving it up, building up a bit and then selling it for something else more interesting. But now that the DEC/ETH pool is here, I am finding it easier to save up. I have the ambitious goal of gathering the 7.5 million DEC to buy a whole country of land, or whatever it is (zone, region whatever). I saw @nealmcspadden talking on one of his video's about 7.5 million DEC, and so that is my target. I'm miles away, currently with 300,000 DEC and 0.7 ETH in the pool, but you gotta start somewhere right? 7.5 million, here I come. Buying 5 - 10 HIVE per day worth, more if I have extra funds available.

Buying NEOXAG.

This one is a bit of a long shot play. Price has been on the improve lately, and part of this is probably the bonus for staking that is being offered by BROfund. Staking one token to earn another is nice. Part also is probably just the general tribe token improvement that many have experienced since LEO has taken its path. The LEO effect, lets call it. But I don't know, I'm not really in the Neoxian community, but I like it and I'm picking up a little more here and there.

Buying WEED.

I'm adding to my WEED stash occasionally (pun intended). Similar to NEOXAG, not really in the community, but it is another long shot play incase something good happens. Potentially they may be looking to follow in LEO's footsteps, and if that does happen (a founder was mentioning in the LEO discord he was looking into it) I'd like to have a chunk to play with. Just occasionally picking up some, and unstaking some - just in case.

Buying ARCHON.

This little tribe is growing on me. They have some of the best tokenomics going around for a general purpose tribe. Decently valued, lower inflation than most. Building up my stake with occasional buys. The miner tokens are an important factor in this tribe - and I have none. But still, my ARCHON holdings are steadily growing, and I'll keep working my way up the leader-board.

So there you have it, the HIVE based tokens I am currently actively buying, or occasionally accumulating and why. Almost forgot, buying LEO also... of course. T.B.H. I have sold a few, but changed my mind and re-bought. I want to keep accumulating till I have $10,000 worth of WLEO/ETH in liquidity pools. (or WLEO/BAL once I can convince Khal to branch out and set up another pool) That's my goal. Until we can set up WLEO/RUNE, I'll keep building on the current WLEO/ETH pool holding.

What are you buying? What have I missed? Shill me your favorite HIVE based token in the comments.

Thanks for reading,

JK.
