Thorchain has some influential fans.
Last week, I put out my first Thorchain weekly update and in it I connected two seemingly unrelated events. Eric Voorhees has been taking an interest in the Thorchain project. Recently he tweeted looking to source a decent amount of testnet BTC. With testing on Thorchain of a link to Bitcoin underway, I speculated that the two are connected and Eric is looking to add Thorchain swaps and liquidity to Shapeshift the company he is CEO of.
From last weeks post linked above.Now this is purely speculation, but if he is on record saying he is following Thorchain, and he is trying to source "reasonable quantities" of testnet Bitcoin, around the time that a BTC testnet for Thorchain is coming to life... Well, you join the dots, but is it a stretch to consider the possibility that Shapeshift may plug in to Thorchain as a source of liquidity for their swap service?
Interest in Thorchain confirmed.
A short time ago, Eric showed publicly again how interested he is in Thorchain with the following Tweets:
Native (non-wrapped), highly liquid, fully decentralized and unstoppable swaps between Bitcoin <> Ethereum is coming.

It will also mean the ability to earn yield on native #bitcoin (again, non-wrapped) with no custodian involved.

Now, I'm not saying yet that I am right, but there is clear and definite signs that he is closely following Thorchain.
In case you missed it, A few days ago @khaleelkazi put out his own post shilling Thorchain. In it he highlighted a comment that was made in the Thorchain telegram group by Kai - a core team member.
Draw your own conclusions, but is this a sign that a "strategic partner" is starting to make the message loud and clear? I don't know, but speculating is fun right?
