I think there's a lot of overlap between our stories as well. The folks who told me about steem have mostly gone as well but I met new people that I'm friends with and have stuck around here, like you, loved the experience of being involved and able to interact with a blockchain from a blogging and social aspect, learning about other cryptocurrencies... it's been enlightening! Now the non-blockchain world is one I barely recognise anymore haha!

I have a feeling you might be right about your 10 year assessment, blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies will be far more widely accessible to everyone with all kinds of services from "Web2" being replaced with "Web3" offerings.
