I’m making this article for the newbies in the house especially for those I brought into hive because they need guidance.

I have come to realize that most newbies don’t understand how to calculate the value of their wallet and that’s okay. This is because, they are new and are not used to things like this. I get almost the same question from them, and I kept repeating the same answer, so it’s nice to make this article for them so I can just send it to them to learn.

We will go to the hive.blog wallet value. The hive.blog wallet value shows you the value of your wallet which includes your liquid hive, your hive power and your Hive Backed Dollar(HBD). Each hive power unit has the same value as that of hive. That means 1 hive power = The Value of 1 hive. So if the current value of 1 hive = $0.4 then the value of your 1 hive power= $0.4. The difference is that one is liquid which means can be spent instantly, while the hive power is not liquid and can’t be spent instantly. It needs to be powered down. That is why you see an estimated Value on your hive wallet with a value. If you do the maths by adding the value of Liquid Hive + Hive Power + HBD = The Estimated Value of your total hive wallet.

The Hive engine is another hive wallet that shows your hive engine tokens and their value. Mind you the value shown on your hive engine is the value of your unstaked tokens. Which we can refer as you liquid token.

The next wallet we go to will be the Leofinance wallet. The Leofinance wallet shows you your leo wallet and the value in dollars. The value of the wallet is the combination of your Leo power and your liquid Leo. If you click on the Leo wallet, you will see something like this:

Now this shows you the option of checking your Hive Wallet and your Hive engine wallet. This also includes their values.

But I prefer leodex because this one gives me the value of all my hive engine tokens. It estimates the value of everything excluding my hive wallet. It also calculates the value in Hive and the value in Leo.

If you will need to withdraw any hive engine token you need to convert them to swap.hive first then withdraw to your hive wallet. This is because no external exchange platform has listed any hive engine token
