I find the recent discussion by Blocktrades, among others, surrounding smart contracts and establishing a "smart contract server" very interesting. What would that do for Hive? Also, how quickly could that be rolled out?

If that does come into being, at least from a feature offering standpoint, it puts Hive on par with some of the bigger chains. Sure, at the base layer, Hive is still very specialized. However, in terms of tying in, developers would then have the tools to build what they desire while still having the data tied to a decentralized back end.

Suddenly, the entire outlook of things changes.
