I agree...Trending page greets the new comers. So it needs a bit diversity.
One way to have diversity is whales up-voting the diverse content based on a broad spectrum, other than just circle voting each other.

I am planing to start creating some basic crypto stuff for the beginners. But I doubt it will reach trending... :)
