My personal finance with crypto and blockchain technology [ENG-ESP]

Before knowing the world of cryptocurrencies, I was still an engineering student. My only financial resource was a statal bank account. I do not know how it is in other countries, but since I can remember, acquiring a bank account here in Venezuela is a process that requires a lot of paperwork and very slow procedures that also do not guarantee that you will get the account.
Although I depended mainly on my parents, I had a student scholarship, which was my only source of personal income. This scholarship was a great help, but with the deterioration of the country's economy, its purchasing power was increasingly reduced. This led me to look for work alternatives on the Internet. However, it was thanks to one person that I began to learn about the world of cryptocurrencies, at the end of 2017.
Initially I did not earn much money through them, I started in some "faucets" that were popular at that time, like FaucetHub, even reaching the minimum withdrawal amount in FreeBitcoin (30k satoshis at that time) and FreeDogecoin. It was the first time I did trading, but I didn't have much success, mainly due to inexperience. However, I knew that cryptocurrencies were much more than trading or faucets, and I wanted to know more.

Not long after that I found Steemit surfing the Internet. When I started having posts with earnings from $3 to $10, my personal finances were greatly increased. In those days, the Venezuelan economy was not so dollarized, and with only $1 you could buy quite a few things. Due to the time consuming nature of my studies and my little experience in blogging (it took me up to 1 week or more to make a post), it became difficult for me to continue at Steemit, so I abandoned it for a while.
Now I am going to mention another income I obtained through the cryptocurrencies, while I was inactive in Steemit, in the year 2018. My mom (@eve66) is also interested in cryptocurrencies and technology. She won a contest through Twitter in 2018 where the prize was more than $300 in a crypto currency called Logiscoin. Shortly after that, its price shot up to $500. Since it was possible to "mine in the cloud" (staking) on a platform that was relatively recent, we decided to leave it all there. Big mistake. The platform was "hacked" a few months later, causing almost everything to be lost.
Despite this loss, we were able to make some purchases by changing some fractions of that currency into Bolivars. With more experience, I would have decided that the best thing was to change all that to BTC and move it to a more secure account, or even, to have invested it in my Steem stake at that time, my HP would be higher today.
The impact of cryptocurrencies on my personal finances has been that today I value investment, savings, and the importance of knowing where to do it. Having cryptocurrencies stored in your own wallet is not only a form of financial freedom, since the security of them only depends on yourself and the protection of your keys. They have also served as a protection against the hyperinflation of the national currency.
Currently I have earned between $40 and $60 per month through my Hive blog. While this is not much in the face of the daily deterioration of my country's economy and continued dollarization, I can work more on my effectiveness and increase this figure.
In spite of having graduated as a Civil Engineer almost 1 year ago, I haven't been able to get a job in that. However, I see Hive as a creative entrepreneurship, not as a job that provides an income. Understanding the importance of Hive Power, I have realized that anyone can invest and bet on the long term.
Cryptocurrencies can be used to buy real things, and the trend is that more and more people are doing it. I know of quite a few establishments in Venezuela that accept cryptocurrencies. There aren't many and most people don't pay with crypto, but there are some. We have had bought food by paying with Dash, and I know of some businesses in Venezuela that accept Hive.
As for the blockchain technology specifically, it has impacted on the security of knowing that I can trust the math and not a group of people. It is crucial to know the difference between keeping your coins in an exchange and in your own wallet. It has allowed many people to gain financial freedom, through the existence of Bitcoin and crypto-currencies. Besides the fact that it allows the verifiability of each transaction in a transparent way, there's no way to "outsmart" the system.
LeoFinance is a community that I have been watching a little bit since the creation of Hive, however, even though I saw potential in it, I had no idea what content to publish here. I now have a better view of what content I could share in this community and the possibilities of increasing my earnings through the LEO token. In addition, I see this community as a good opportunity to learn about financial topics and more about cryptocurrencies.

Antes de conocer el mundo de las criptomonedas, aún era estudiante de Ingeniería. Mi único medio financiero era una cuenta en un banco estatal. No sé como sea en otros países, pero desde que tengo memoria, adquirir una cuenta bancaria acá en Venezuela es un proceso que requiere mucho papeleo y trámites muy lentos que además no te garantizan que obtendrás la cuenta.
Aunque dependía principalmente de mis padres, tenía una beca estudiantil, la cual era mi única fuente de ingreso personal. Esta beca fue de gran ayuda, pero con el deterioro de la economía del país, el poder adquisitivo de esta se fue reduciendo cada vez más. Esto me llevó a buscar alternativas de trabajo en Internet. Sin embargo, fue gracias a una persona que empecé a conocer el mundo de las criptomonedas, a finales del 2017.
Inicialmente no gané mucho dinero a través de ellas, empecé en algunas "faucets" que estaban de moda en ese momento, como FaucetHub, llegando incluso al mínimo de retiro en FreeBitcoin (30k satoshis en ese momento) y FreeDogecoin. Fue la primera vez que hice trading, pero no tuve mucho éxito, principalmente debido a la inexperiencia. Sin embargo, sabía que las criptomonedas eran mucho más que el trading o las faucets, y quería saber más.

No mucho tiempo después me encontré con Steemit navegando a través de Internet. Cuando empecé a tener posts con ganancias de 3$ a 10$, mis finanzas personales se vieron incrementadas en gran parte. En aquellos días, la economía venezolana no estaba tan dolarizada, y con solo 1$ se podían comprar bastantes cosas. Debido al tiempo que consumían mis estudios y mi poca experiencia en blogs (tardaba hasta 1 semana o más en hacer una publicación), se me hizo difícil continuar en Steemit, por lo que lo abandoné por un tiempo.
Ahora voy a mencionar otros ingresos que obtuve a través de las criptomonedas, mientras estaba inactivo en Steemit, en el año 2018. Mi mamá (@eve66) también le interesan las criptomonedas y la tecnología. Ella ganó un concurso a través de Twitter en 2018 en donde el premio eran más de 300$ en una criptomoneda llamada Logiscoin. Poco después su precio se disparó y eso llegó a valer 500$. Ya que se podía minar en la nube en una plataforma que era relativamente reciente, decidimos dejarlo todo allí. Error grande. La plataforma fue "hackeada" pocos meses después, haciendo que se perdiera casi todo.
A pesar de esta pérdida, pudimos hacer algunas compras cambiando algunas fracciones de esa moneda a Bolívares. Con una mayor experiencia, hubiera decidido que lo mejor era cambiar todo eso a BTC y moverlo a una cuenta más segura, o incluso, haberlo invertido en mi stake de Steem en aquel entonces, mi HP sería mayor hoy día.
El impacto de las criptomonedas en mis finanzas personales ha sido que hoy día valore más la inversión, el ahorro, y la importancia de saber donde hacerlo. Tener criptomonedas almacenadas en tu propia billetera no solo es una forma de libertad financiera, ya que la seguridad de ellas sólo depende de uno mismo y la protección de sus claves. Además me han servido como una protección en contra de la hiperinflación de la moneda nacional.
En la actualidad he ganado entre 40$ y 60$ mensuales mediante mi blog de Hive. Si bien esto no es mucho ante el deterioro diario de la economía de mi país y la continua dolarización, puedo trabajar más en mi efectividad e incrementar esta cifra.
A pesar de haberme graduado de Ingeniero Civil hace casi 1 año, no he conseguido trabajo en eso. Sin embargo, veo a Hive como un emprendimiento creativo, no como un trabajo que proporciona un ingreso. Entendiendo la importancia del Hive Power, he comprendido que cualquiera puede invertir y apostar a largo plazo.
Las criptomonedas pueden usarse para comprar cosas reales, y la tendencia es que cada vez más personas lo hagan. Se de bastantes establecimientos en Venezuela que aceptan criptomonedas. No son muchos y tampoco son la mayoría los que pagan con cripto, pero los hay. En mi familia hemos llegado a comprar alimentos pagando con Dash, y sé de algunos emprendimientos en Venezuela que aceptan Hive.
En cuanto a la tecnología blockchain específicamente, ha impactado en la seguridad de saber que puedo confiar en la matemática y no en un grupo de personas. Es crucial conocer la diferencia entre guardar tus monedas en un exchange y en tu propia cartera. Ha permitido a muchas personas obtener libertad financiera, a través de la existencia de Bitcoin y las criptomonedas. Además de que permite la verificabilidad de cada transacción de manera transparente, no hay forma de "ser mas inteligente" que el sistema.
LeoFinance es una comunidad a la cual he estado observando un poco desde la creación de Hive, sin embargo, a pesar de que le veía potencial, no tenía idea de que contenido publicar acá. Ahora tengo una mejor visión de que contenido podría compartir en esta comunidad y las posibilidades de incrementar mis ganancias a través del token LEO. Además, veo esta comunidad como una buena oportunidad de aprender sobre tópicos de finanzas y más sobre las criptomonedas.
