It has been a long and ardruous journey but I'm finally at this awesome point in my Splinterlands journey where I can say I bought over 1k packs. This has been a very grueling investment journey for me but one that I've absolutely relish and if given the chance, I'd do it all again.

At the time of writing, I have 300 unopened packs and a belly filled with excitement. I've put my money where my mouth is and double down to reach a milestone that I set on a whim.

I honestly thought it was going to require the entire Chaos legion sales period to achieve this goal but I got it done around the halfway mark. With roughly 6.8 million packs unsold, there is still time to add to my collection.

Raising fund for the last lap of the milestone was achieved through my partnership with SEED project. The partnership also enabled me to put some HBD into savings, thus raising my total HBD savings to $7K.

Note that I have a HBD savings target of 10K before the end of the year and it is one that I intend to meet in a couple of weeks. This will also get us one step closer to raising our relocation fund.

Hive is better

It is important to point out that buying packs with Hive is better than buying packs with HBD. The HBD to credit conversion in the game is crappy.

If you want to buy packs, I suggest you convert your HBD to Hive first and then buy with Hive. You'll notice that you get at a better rate

Airdrop and the future

I believe that with 1k packs purchased, I should be in a good position to earn the legendary airdrops on the way. As always, I'm hoping for a couple gold foil legendaries to give my deck a boost.

My Splinterlands journey has now officially been restarted, but I'm not starting from scratch, since these packs have monsters inside them. However, I don't intend to open the packs any time soon.

I'm not going to lie though, there was a strong force compelling me to open packs immediately I bought the last 110. I had to fight against my urges and didn't open.

I now hold 300 packs and will add another 200+ before the end of the sales. I will not be opening any of the packs, no matter how tough it is.

The plan is to wait out the sales and sell the packs when CHaos Legion packs are scarce. This could take anywhere between 6 months and 6 years. Patience is the game I'm playing right now. I've set a minimum price of $20 per pack as my target selling price.

Alternatively, I could open the packs further down the line, as they could represent my route back into the game. This is kind of what I did with the untamed collection and that worked out pretty well.

Anyway, the most important thing is that $k later, I reached my milestone far earlier than I thought I would. Now I'm under no pressure to buy packs, but still intend to buy a couple more in the coming weeks/months.
