I Am Back! - Though I Was Never Gone. [Boosting Engagement]
I have been part of this "Lion's nest" for more than 5 months now and I don't want to make any excuses, but Covid-19 combined with my job in a psychiatric ward has been- and still makes my time very limited. You see, being indoors like a lot of people, especially elderly people have been for more than a year now causes mental illness and mental illness is- and has already been increasing long before Covid-19. We're having a load of work and we're overcrowded with patients. We usually have room for 20 patients in total, but it's usually rare to see more than ~14 patients at the same time. During the past 6-7 months, we've literally had people waiting outside, waiting for a spot..
It's horryifing and it casues a lot of agony and pain.. Which obviously causes even more mental illness in the long haul. People expects to get help for their mental illness, but we can't help them because we don't have any room for them. - Long story short, it's a huge problem.
That being said, that is literally the best explanation I have for not being as active as I want to be, but I have been doing a lot of work "behind the scenes" like I mentioned in a previous article, even though my time has been very limited for a long period of time. But, I want more..
I am missing out on a lot of things and engagement is one of those things. It's not that I ignore my audience, my friends or my fellow Hivers or Lions, it's just a matter of lack of time.
I have been in the leaderboards for both top LEO author and for most comments multiple times in the past. I have been a TOP LEO AUTHOR four times out of my 5+ months of being active on LeoFinance.io which is an amazing achievement that I am very proud of and grateful for.. But, I want more..
This month, for April, I will do my best to scale things up again and become an active part of #initiative10 once again. My goal is to produce at least 10 comments per day for the entire month, and hopefully, things will continue like that going forward. However, my focus and priority is to go with quality over quantity, so you won't see a bunch of useless "great post"-looking comments.
I know that we've already had a LeoFinance Weekly Stats 03/22/2021 to 03/28/2021 report, so I will probably not be able to put my name up in the list for the next report, but I will make sure to do what I can to be up there at the top within the report after that. Hopefully, I'll even do one better and put my name up in there in the next report, but don't count on that. There are a bunch of really awesome people out there pushing engagement to new heights, and this is me telling you that I'm back.
Engagement is key
I have said this numerous of times in the past. Engagement is not only good for the overall growth and to "look good" for outsiders. It's a way for users to reward- and be rewarded for comments, an extra way to earn and grow your stake and it's a superb opportunity to grow your audience as well.
Meaningful comments are hard to miss. It's easier to have 1 article being overlooked by people than 10 meaningful, well-thought comments per day so the comments aren't just to produce numbers and making the platform look well and active. It's a great opportunity for everyone to grow together.
Don't wait for #projectblank to solve the "engagement puzzle". You're a piece of the puzzle, be that piece and lay the puzzle for others to enjoy and see.
Regardless of your decision, I am no longer a missing piece.
