I am a fan of LeoThreads, been so ever since it rolled out on the 4th of August last year and I'm not going to hesitate in saying that I'm one amongst the threads OGs. Well, the blockchain has the records to support this claim. We've seen and experienced how it evolved to what it is today.

My experience on it prompted me to build my alt because it ran out of Resource Credits for threading so much, lol! It had 50 HP at that time and Dane (forexbrokr) came to the rescue and delegated some Hive Power when I posted a screenshot of having broken my RC during the first few days of threads. I ran out twice if I remember correctly. It was a good problem to solve because it means I was doing more transactions (activities) on Hive through threads. Not that I create threads on my own but I engage with others. I said it before and going to repeat it this time, this microblogging feature has opened a whole new way of engaging for me. It made it easier and faster too.

So I salute the LeoFinance team for bringing this to us and I commend their efforts and dedication to providing us a more robust and seamless user experience. The new UI has been in production mode since the first of this month and it is far from perfect but they are continuously building behind the scenes, rolling out improvements and enhancements now and then, making true to their ultimate goal of delivering a "bug-free and super smooth interface, on par with platforms like Twitter".

Did you know that they have around 500-700 planned features for the LeoFinance UI? Learned that from here while doing a quick research for my edition of the Daily LEO. It's super exciting just thinking about what those features might be. And I'm actually feeling proud to be amongst those who are witnessing the progress and experiencing them first hand as they come out.

Last night, they brought out the whole new look on the long-form publishing interface (above image). I like it and immediately used it to post my edition of the newsletter. If you have seen the previous publishing page, this is surely a welcoming update. The page no longer looks like it's been squeezed. Well done LEO team!

Why do I Thread?

Last year, I wrote why I love threads and my reasons then stand true to date, re:

  • It has become my web 3 social media at its finest. Hive is and it became my full-time space so to speak. The addition of LeoThreads made it so much more fun.

  • Can post anything - short rants, musings, photos, random thoughts etcetera (and being on the Hive blockchain, I own them forever.)

  • Threads are easier to read and comment on. The time spent on making threads and engaging is significantly shorter than the long-form content, We all have time constraint at some point or another and #threads is making it possible for me to still be active even on a busy day or on a sick day like today.

  • The chance of monetizing my short contents. The micro-earnings cannot be underestimated. They all add up. They come in LEO, HIVE, HBD and yes GOSH too.

  • It can be a fast source of information especially of crypto and the markets.

  • I get more interaction or engagement on threads than on web 2 although I have more followers there than on-chain. That is partially because I am more active here than on Twitter.

  • By using threads often on a day, we help the Hive blockchain grow and thrive. The more activities on chain, the better for its growth.

  • And did you know that the busier threads get, the Ad Revenue increases too? That's exciting for sure because the revenues will be shared to LEO stakeholders.

To sum it up, I find threads fun, engaging and freeing!

There are more features yet to come and who knows one day, the LeoFinance as we know it today will become the "Everything App" that it aims to be.
