Cosmos Weekly Preview.

After a few weeks of being M.I.A., I'm finally back to present a new edition of "This Week in the Cosmos." It is shaping up to be quite a big week, despite the early price action which has been a little sad of late. No matter, stake/claim/compound and LP/claim/compound is a strategy for the long run, and airdrops (particularly in the Cosmos eco-system) can enhance these returns even further.

Speaking of airdrops, this week is looking to be one of the more memorable ones on the calendar for Cosmonauts. At least four are incoming, maybe more.

Shade.

Many have been waiting for the SHADE airdrop for months. This was one I first posted about 4 months ago and which has been covered by other Leofinance authors also, notable by @melbourneswest in this post. Well, the time is finally upon us, this drop is now claimable. To check if you are eligible, you can visit this page This is an airdrop for Secret, Cosmos and Luna stakers, and the project itself is a privacy preserving range of DeFi apps being built on the Secret Network (including an algo-stablecoin). There is a video to watch, and process so check it out. I'm personally having trouble, can't get an IBC TX through to send some SCRT to cover gas - it wants nearly 0.3 SCRT which is a lot more than usual gas. I have some pending IBC withdrawals stuck on Osmosis - first IBC issues I've experienced for ages.

EVMOS

This is the big one for the Cosmos eco-system, and also Ethereum users (and even Rune people). With likely the most inclusive, and ambitious airdrop structure (labelled by the team as a REKTdrop). This airdrop is expected to be claimable on the 28th Feb. You can find all the details for qualification in this post from Tharsis, the team behind EVMOS. It seems like this website - evmos.me will be the place to go to claim and manage the drop. The EVMOS project itself is a long awaited addition to the Cosmos eco-system, with an EVM chain on a Cosmos SDK base. This has been in the plans for years, and the Tharsis team toke over the project and have brought it now to launch stage.

If you have played on Ethereum, particularly in projects that have had exploits, high gas or rug pulls, Thorchain back when it was exploited, or around the Cosmos eco-system, make sure you don't miss claiming this one. The claim process will contain steps and tasks to unlock components of the drop.

LIKECOIN

LIKE airdrop is also now claimable. There are a few steps to claim the drop, and it is on the smaller side compared to some of the others. Still, worth heading to claim your LIKE aidrop. My claim process here was also buggy, and delayed due to "technical difficulties", but we'll get there. During the process, I learned that LikeCoin has a decentralized twitter style publishing - interesting. It is very very basic, but seems to work. Not sure about the project, but will keep an eye on it to see if it develops into something I'd be interested in using.

RAW

No confirmation yet on timing for this one, hopefully this week but who knows. Drop for JUNO stakers, Junoswap LP's (it will be the rewards and gov token) and some other categories (OSMO LP's and ATOM stakers from memory). Waiting patiently for more info.

STARS

The 28th is the indicated date for the launch of the Stargaze chains main product, and NFT marketplace. Once this does launch, the remainder of the STARS airdrop should unlock. This has been one of the better drops of late, with the value holding up ok in the current market, and staking returns quite high. It is one that is likely to lead to other drops or benefits down the track, with potential of NFT drops to stakers. Just speculation, but could be a good hold for the long run.

RAC

Racoon is another new project launching with an airdrop. There is a claim process to register your address for JUNO stakers. This process likely has not alot of time left, so worth a look. Looks to be an NFT project on JUNO, and liquidity will be available on Junoswap when the drop happens, likely in the next few days.

Other news.

The big event I'm really looking forward to personally, aside from the launch of EVMOS, is the role out of Superfluid staking on Osmosis. It seems that it will begin with the ATOM/OSMO pool, and possibly the UST/OSMO pool also. Basically, the OSMO portion of your LP position in these pools, provided you are in the 14 day bonding option, will be able to be staked, participating in governance and earning staking rewards, on top of the existing LP rewards. It is hinted for this week, but if it isn't delivered then Sunny, founder of Osmosis, has to shave his head. This challenge was issued months ago, to deliver superfluid staking by the end of Feb.

Lots happening this week, despite the sad price action. The big three events here for me personally will be EVMOS, RAW (if it happens this week) and superfluid staking (also if it eventuates this week.) Shade will be cool once the SCRT chain calms down a bit, seems very congested at the moment and IBC seems broken for now. Looking forward to STARS drop being completed and checking the initial NFT's on offer.
