The great thing about Hive is that it is a blockchain full of opportunities. Ever since I started my Play2Earn reports, I talked about different opportunities I saw on a weekly basis. Basically, there never has been a week where I didn't see at least one good new chance to earn some great rewards. Recently though, things are getting out of hand a bit. That's not to say that this is a bad thing, certainly not, but right now, I feel like you almost can't throw a stone without hitting a huge opportunity around here. I'm not (really) complaining, but right now I'm having a hard time to decide where my earnings will be (re-)invested. Certainly that's not the worst position to be in!

Before I get into any more detail about the different games and opportunities I see in this regard, let's first look at my weekly gains:

TokenAmountIncrease
Hive6,12228
LEO5,03019
LBI1,687-
SPT27,1983,611

I felt like I really needed to integrate the LBI-token in my chart because this is where most of my token earnings have been going right now. 50% of my author rewards go to Hive Power, my curation rewards from @kahzrakh.leo go to LEO Power, but everything else is going to LBI. I feel like among all the opportunities I see right now, this should be the best business proposition available to me. Maybe not in terms of short term gains, but long term I have huge hopes for this project and it certainly is part of my strategy to generate a passive income for myself.

In other news, I'm struggling a bit in terms of author rewards on Hive recently. Not sure what's the exact cause since I'm still doing pretty well in terms of Publish0x and LeoFinance. It might be related to my lower interaction level with non-Leo content. Basically, if the article is not on LeoFinance chances are pretty high I might just miss it. I also almost finished delegating my Hive Power to @leo.voter so that might hurt my visibility on Hive as well. I don't intend to change that for now though, I'm pretty happy with the modus operandi I'm in right now.

So now let's have a look at the individual games I'm playing:

Splinterlands

The last Splinterlands season just recently ended and I once more managed to finish in Champion I but failed to score a top 50 spot. Getting there remains my short term goal for the game, although I'm still pretty happy with how things are going. Season rewards have been a bit on the bad side of things this time but all in all, earnings from the game are great and a lot of my LBI-tokens have been paid for in DEC actually.

There are a lot of high value tournaments coming soon and around Christmas and I hope to earn some extra rewards from these as well. Renting is also going pretty good for me. I keep sending cards I don't need to my dedicated renting accounts and each week, I've found more and more cards to be leased out to other players. A lot of these leases are going for the full 180 days which I'm especially happy about, as these will provide a steady stream of income without the need for any more interaction with these cards. Once we get closer to the actual land release, I might have to remove a lot of these leases, though, as I might need the cards myself to work my lands.

This leads us to another big topic for the week and a pretty promising investment opportunity. In the last recent Splinterlands AMA it was confirmed that you'll also have to stake a summoner to your land plots contrary to only monsters as I had expected thus far. This does change things quite a bit and all of a sudden I feel like summoners are severely under-priced for the demand I expect to see. I did a dedicated article on the matter in case you want to learn more detals.

Today is also the last stage of the land presale. At the time of writing this, about 6,500 land plots have already been purchased again and honestly, that's more than I expected to see at this stage. If they miraculously manage to sell out the last stage of the presale until the end of the year, this would be a great win for the game and way more than what I had expected. Splinterlands certainly is on track right now!

Rising Star

Another of these big opportunities I'm seeing left and right recently. With their rewards pool starting on January 1st, Rising Star is looking really promising right now. It has yet to manifest in the Starbits price, but I certainly feel like they managed to turn things around with this new and upcoming feature. I already did a full analysis about why I think this could be a game changer for Rising Star and from what I hear from others, it seems that most players seem to agree and interest in the game's NFTs certainly has increased.

Personally, I've made a vow to not sell any more NFTs/Starbits until I reach the top 10 in the rewards pool. I'm not sure yet what the best way to get there will be, but obviously, having more (unique) cards is the way to go. I've started to save up all my Starbits last weekend and by now, I have already accumulated about 87,000 Starbits. Once I've hit 100,000, I'll buy a 12-pack from the game to get a Mozart reward card and to push my luck a bit - fingers crossed I hit a legendary or at least some epics.

After that, I might start to pick up singles from the market more. There are a lot of unique cards that I don't have yet, so getting these first should be the best way to push up my ranking. Right now I'm placed #58 and I already lost some ranks during the week because I've been saving my Starbits. So I'm certainly not the only one actively working to climb the ladder - this is going to become pretty interesting in the coming weeks!

dCity

Talking of climbing the ladders and huge opportunities. I've managed to go up about 30 slots in dCitys city-ranking this last week and am now sitting at #354. That's still a bit to go to reach the next daily reward level at #300 but it also proves to me, that I can get there without the need of additional investments from the outside. The way I reinvest my earnings right now helps me to grow my city faster than it seems to do for other players around my rating.

If it wasn't for LBI, I would already reinvest more of my gains in dCity. So once LBI is sold out, I'll probably focus on pushing my ranking to #2xx next. It will also be interesting to see what happens once the 1st edition goes out of print. It seems like there are tons of these cards around, so short term this is probably not going to change anything, but the age of luxury homes at 1 Hive each are bound to end eventually.

Cryptobrewmaster

And the list of big opportunities just keeps going on. Cryptobrewmaster is having a New Years bonanza where you get random rewards for buying their resource packs. The details can be found here. Now I'm not the biggest fan of these random reward packs but the stuff inside sounds really promising so I want to buy at least some of these packs to try and push my luck. So instead of converting my next HBD from author rewards to Hive, I'm going to reinvest them into some resource packs.

I also have to admit that I'm deeply in love with the way Cryptobrewmaster crafted its economy so far. Renting these buildings instead of one time purchases is such a breath of fresh air to the genre, it's brilliant! I intend to do a dedicated article on that matter tomorrow and I really hope that other games will learn from what the developers are doing here!

In other news, I've found another 7 referrals which brought me up to a total of 279 players brought to the game. I'm now at reward level 68 which is pretty nice since I'm now getting a masterwork ingredient every other level - things are certainly paying off big time here!

eXode

Not much news on eXode yet, its first AMA is going to be released soon with some great questions answered by the developer. Other than that, we are still waiting for the uniform update before things should be heating up again with more challenges, more evacuation and first hints of colonization to come in soon...

Conclusion

And that's all from me today! To each and everybody caring for it - have a great Christmas and enjoy the holidays! I'll be back with another Play2Earn Report next week where I'll try and do a little wrapping up for my first year on Hive. Thank you all for reading and see you next time!
