There's an old saying from the much-beloved Christmas film It's a Wonderful Life that goes like this: "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings." The things I'm seening lately, on our own little corner of the blockchain, inspired me to write this post.

I'm sitting here on a chilly April morning (It's been cold here lately in Pennsylvania) after a long weekend filled with coursework. I haven't had much time to comment, much less write posts, but did pop in a few times to scan the homepage of Hive and LeoFinance. There are times when you see a thing and don't really realize it's importance until given a chance to step back and view the whole picture. What I'm talking about is the wonderful welcome we give to new people.

It's even more obvious now, then when this whole thing started way back in 2016. Some new blogger will show up with their introduction post and that all too familiar "25" on their profile page. The response given is phenomenal, with numerous warm, welcoming comments and healthy upvotes given. Boy, do we know how to make someone feel like a member of the family! I feel this is really important in fostering a sense of brotherhood among those who join us and making them feel like staying awhile.

The point to realize is that it's a non-trivial thing to make the choice to join us here on the blockchain. I can still remember the process of signing up and then waiting for that approval before I could start writing again. As I've said recently, this place (in it's former incarnation), helped reawaken my passion for blogging. I had to surmount trust issues I'd had on another platform, in order to be where I am today.

And that's why engagement inititives from my friends over at @leomarkettalk are crucial in developing new bloggers and building that sense of community. While you're at it, come join our chat!

So it's heartwarming to see how we roll out the red carpet whenever someone makes that leap of faith and decides to join us. Close your eyes and imagine that whenever we gain a new member, a bell goes off and an angel gets their wings.

We're doing so much good on this platform. There are people who are able to support their families from the loving effort they put forth here on Hive and the other front-ends. There's a real sense of camaraderie from all of the suggestions and helpful tips in order to start them out the right way. Thanks to all of you for being such awesome tribe brothers! Wait, what's that? I think I hear a little bell going off right now. James Stewart would be proud!.

Thank You So Much!
